‘Mattress Mack’ Loses Big Bet on Texas Longhorns in Sugar Bowl

Jim “Mattress Mack” McInvale has some impressive wins, but that doesn't make his betting prowess unbeatable, and he favors the Texas Longhorns in the Sugar Bowl. Nothing illustrates that more fully than the recent failed bet of .

Before the Longhorns' big game against the Washington Huskies, McInvale bet $1 million that his beloved Texas team would win the national championship. This was the first time since 2005, when Vince Young led the team to a victory.

“Friday night, I drove to Louisiana to place a bet on the phone,” McIngvale told FOX Sports. “I have a huge passion for UT football.”

Unfortunately, the Huskies won Monday night's close game 31-37. If McIngvale's bet had been correct, he would have hit the jackpot.

“If Texas had pulled off an upset in the Sugar Bowl, the $1 million bet McIngvale made at Caesars Sportsbook at +270 odds would have netted him a whopping $2.7 million profit. Had he gone on to win the championship game, he would have received an estimated total payout of $3.7 million. fox news I got it.

Sports betting company Action Network estimates that McIngvale has lost $10.25 million on sports bets over the past three years.

Despite the loss, McIngvale's impressive victory should not be taken lightly.

“McIngvale has had some big wins during his highly publicized sports betting career. Astros defeat Philadelphia Phillies in 2022 World Series, McIngvale earns prize money We were able to. An unprecedented $75 million with prize money,” FOX News noted.
