Mayor Adams Meets with Trump Envoy

This week, Mayor Eric Adams had a meeting with Steve Witkoff, an envoy from former President Trump. The discussions seemed focused on Adams’ potential political future, particularly in light of his upcoming re-election bid.

Adams took a trip to Florida on Monday, which his team later confirmed was related to his 65th birthday celebrations.

While the mayor didn’t explicitly confirm his connections to the Trump administration, he didn’t outright deny having had interactions with its officials when questioned.

Reports surfaced on Wednesday indicating that conversations regarding Adams’ possible position in Washington had reached the upper echelons of Trump’s administration.

The discussions included influential figures such as businessman John Catsimatidis, a friend of Adams. It was mentioned that Catsimatidis had set a deadline for both Adams and GOP candidate Curtis Sliwa to consider withdrawing from the race.

Political dynamics appear to be shifting, especially with former Governor Andrew Cuomo making moves that could impact the race, particularly for socialist candidate Zoran Mamdani.

As of now, Witkoff and representatives from the White House have not responded to requests for comments.

This is an ongoing story, and updates are expected.
