Mayorkas Claims Joe Biden’s Border Policy Is ‘Working’

President Joe Biden’s border chief said the White House’s border plan is “working.”

But May0rkas, who was impeached by the House in February, said the plan was not designed to reduce immigration to American communities, homes and jobs.

Rather, the border plan is aimed at diverting large numbers of economic migrants from cartel-run “irregular migration” pipelines to a growing number of government-run semi-legal pipelines, Mayorkas told NPR told. morning paperSteve Inskeep on May 10th interview:

storage: Also, is there a policy goal to reduce the number of people arriving, entering or staying?

Mayorkas: Our goal is to eliminate as much as possible the phenomenon commonly referred to as “irregular immigration.” People arrive between ports of entry leaving their lives and savings in the hands of smugglers, which is both dangerous and feeds criminal networks. Instead, we hope they will use legal means to seek relief under U.S. law. That’s why in this administration, more than any other time, we are creating more legal routes to stop them from arriving between our dangerous southern border ports of entry.

storage: Is it fair to say this isn’t working, given the huge numbers of people that continue to come to our southern border?

Mayorkas: No, it’s not… I think it’s working.

storage: What evidence is the Biden administration’s approach working?

Mayorkas: 1, numbers [of “irregular” migrants] decreased.

There are two reasons why the visible influx of illegal immigrants has apparently declined.

First, Mr. Mayorkas is paying Mexico to stabilize the flow of migrants, which generates politically damaging coverage on the evening news.

More importantly, he used taxpayer funds to steer the cartel’s immigrants into quasi-legal channels that were government-funded and controlled by progressives and hacked through a forest of Congressional laws. It is that you are.

This huge quasi-legal influx favors Biden’s 2024 campaign, as it minimizes media coverage of chaotic border crowds.

But it also cuts the wages and salaries earned by millions of increasingly angry young Americans. It also prevents many people from buying homes and encourages them to vote for President Donald Trump.

Mr. Inskeep was perplexed by Mr. Mayorkas’ “working” claim, in part because he believes Mr. Mayorkas’ border policies are consistent with the core policies of U.S. immigration law.

The general policy established by Congressional legislation is to protect American families from ruthless employers who prefer to hire low-wage foreign workers for jobs in the United States.

But Biden’s coalition government has a completely different perspective. His progressive lawmakers, especially the Cuban-born Mayorkas, believe the border is bad for “equity” between Americans and foreigners. His business allies want more consumers, more renters and cut workers. And the left wing of the Democratic Party wants more welfare users and dependent voters.

The policies adopted by Mr. Mayorkas and Mr. Biden therefore seek to smuggle vast numbers of immigrants into the United States by cutting a semi-legal route through a forest of complex and contradictory laws. “We are enforcing the law,” Mayorkas told NPR, even though the country has helped import nearly 10 million legal, illegal and semi-legal immigrants since 2021.

This huge influx is equivalent to the number of children born in the United States during the same period.

Not surprisingly, Mayorkas was impeached by the House in February.

Mr. Inskeep cannot understand Mr. Mayorkas’ ruthless policies. That’s partly because Mr. Inskeep’s allies in the established media and academia don’t recognize it or name it. Mr. Inskeep repeatedly allowed Mr. Mayorkas to dodge questions, usually by changing the subject to shift blame elsewhere.

But Breitbart News became famous for Mayorkas’ harmful immigration, low-wage, pro-business policies.
