During President Donald Trump’s visit to Saudi Arabia, mobile McDonald’s trucks were spotted, which quickly caught the attention of social media. This marked Trump’s first day in the Middle East since taking office. White House officials confirmed that the food trucks were available in Riyadh. Videos and images circulated online, showcasing the unusual sight of the fast-food trucks during such a diplomatic visit.
Popular conservative social media figure Benny Johnson shared footage of the mobile McDonald’s, commenting on the surreal experience. Other users expressed similar disbelief, noting the sight was “incredible.” It’s noteworthy that Trump’s fondness for McDonald’s has long been documented.
The president has previously provided fast food to visiting teams, such as when the National College Football Champion Clemson Tigers came to the White House in 2019. His son-in-law Jared Kushner revealed that Trump craved McDonald’s after recovering from Covid-19. There are even anecdotes about his affinity for an Egg McMuffin during the 2016 campaign.
Trump showcased his love for the fast food giant during a campaign event in Pennsylvania, where he donned a McDonald’s apron and humorously interacted with customers. At one point in October 2024, he jokingly remarked, “Everyone, everyone. It’s my first day at McDonald’s. I’m looking for work,” during a visit to a local restaurant near Philadelphia. He even greeted customers and promised to “make America better than ever” if re-elected.
On that particular trip to Saudi Arabia, Trump was also greeted in a grand fashion. As he arrived, Saudi fighter jets escorted his plane, and the tarmac was adorned with lavish lavender carpets, creating a striking backdrop for his arrival. He subsequently signed a significant economic partnership with Saudi Arabia, focusing on various sectors including energy and defense, which he claimed could create around 2 million jobs in the US.
