McIver Made ICE Facility ‘Unsafe’

Charges Against Rep. McQuiver for Assault

During an appearance on MSNBC’s “Chris Yensing Report,” Tom Homan, former acting director of ICE, stated that Representative Lamonica McQuiver (D-NJ) is facing charges for assault after allegedly making physical contact with ICE officers and attempting to force her way into a Newark ICE facility.

Homan emphasized that while surveillance is justified, there are appropriate methods to carry out such activities. “You can’t just push your way in and physically interact with ICE officers,” he remarked.

He expressed concern that McQuiver’s actions were driven more by political motivations than public safety, highlighting the serious nature of the facility, which houses dangerous individuals. “We can’t let this facility be compromised, but her actions have stirred controversy that jeopardizes its safety,” Homan said.

When Yensing inquired whether McQuiver caused a disturbance, Homan responded, “I’ve seen the footage of her making contact with an ICE officer, so there’s plenty of evidence.”

Yensing posed the question, “Do you consider her a threat?”

Homan replied, “I believe she poses a risk to the facility. When she forcibly attempted to enter, she overstepped her bounds as a member of Congress.”
