Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy said Sunday that Kiev will lose the war with Russia unless the United States approves military aid to fight Moscow’s aggression.
Tens of billions of dollars in military aid to Kiev has been blocked in Congress for months. The package faces resistance from House Republicans.
“We need to specifically tell Congress that if Congress does not support Ukraine, Ukraine will lose the war,” President Zelenskiy said during a video conference on the Kiev-sponsored fundraising platform United 24. around AFP.
Zelenskiy said it would be “difficult” for Ukraine to “remain” (survive) without the latest aid, on top of the estimated $113 billion already sent to Kiev at a cost of $900 per U.S. household.

“If Ukraine loses the war, other countries will also be attacked,” he said.
Russia’s invasion of Ukraine has been going on for more than two years, and its end is closer today than when Russia first sent troops across their shared border.
President Zelenskiy’s plea for more help from the US came in the wake of Russian missile attack strike Overnight on Saturday, eight people were killed and 12 more were injured, Ukrainian officials said.

Six people were killed and 11 injured in a nighttime missile attack on Kharkiv, Ukraine’s second-largest city, according to Kharkiv Region Governor Oleh Sinievov.
The attack damaged homes, gas stations, kindergartens, cafes, stores, and cars.
