Meghan Markle’s Return to Acting
Meghan Markle is reportedly making her return to acting, which marks her first role since becoming engaged to Prince Harry seven years ago.
She was recently seen on the set of the movie “Close Friends” on November 5th in Pasadena, California. The film features notable stars like Lily Collins, Brie Larson, Jack Quaid, and Henry Golding, and Markle is expected to play a fictionalized version of herself.
A source shared that Markle appeared “relaxed and happy” while working in her small role in the film. She reportedly introduced herself to the crew and was described as being warm and approachable.
After her engagement to Harry, Markle left her role on the show “Suits,” where she portrayed Rachel Zane for seven seasons.
According to an Amazon MGM Studios representative, Markle has received a plethora of acting offers since her marriage but held off until this particular opportunity came along. One source mentioned that this move is significant for her, indicating a return to something she’s passionate about.
Additionally, the source noted that this is a way for Markle to gauge her enjoyment of being back on set. Everyone involved seems to be excited about her participation, with strict confidentiality regarding her role.
Reports suggested that Prince Harry is fully supportive of his wife’s decision to return to acting, wanting her to engage in whatever brings her joy.
In 2020, the couple stepped back from royal duties and relocated to Montecito, California, where they are raising their two children, Archie and Lilibet.
During a 2017 interview, Markle had discussed her choice to leave acting, mentioning, “It’s over. I’m not saying never, but my intention is never to do it.” However, she later expressed feelings of being fortunate to have worked on “Suits” for as long as she did and was eager to embark on a new journey with her husband.
