Meghan Markle Makes Acting Comeback
Meghan Markle seems to be on the brink of a new chapter.
The Duchess of Sussex, 44, recently graced the set of her first acting role in eight years in California. Photos captured her arriving at the base camp for Amazon MGM Studios’ Close Personal Friends, where she slipped into a Range Rover and drove to the film set situated in the picturesque hills of Pasadena.
It appears that the former star of Suits greeted the crew with a wave before heading off to film a scene by the pool.
In terms of fashion, Markle sported a button-down shirt paired with a white maxi skirt, finishing off the look with black sunglasses and tan sandals.
As of now, the newspaper has reached out to her representatives for any official statements.
Markle left her acting career behind amidst her relationship with Prince Harry. She gained fame for her portrayal of Rachel Zane on Suits from 2011 to 2018, with her final episode airing just before her royal wedding at Windsor Castle.
During her time away from acting, she devoted herself to royal duties, while the couple transitioned to life in the United States. Currently, they reside in Montecito, California, along with their children, Archie and Lilibet, who are 6 and 4, respectively.
Lately, Markle has been immersed in her lifestyle brand As Ever, the Netflix series With Love, Meghan, and her podcast Confessions of a Female Founder, which have each faced mixed reviews.
Interestingly, back in 2022, she expressed that she was “done” with acting, saying “I don’t think I can say never, but my intention is never.”
Yet, here she is—her recent decision to take on a role in Jason Orley’s film suggests a change of heart. The film, featuring Brie Larson, Lily Collins, and others, revolves around a couple who befriends a celebrity duo during a vacation in Santa Barbara, leading to some awkward and humorous situations.
Sources indicate that Markle is set to play a version of herself. One insider shared, “Meghan was on set today. She seemed very relaxed and happy. She introduced herself to everyone and was very sweet and down to earth.”
A studio source described her return as a “huge moment,” emphasizing that it signifies a return to something she truly enjoys. It was also noted that Prince Harry is very supportive of her endeavors, wanting her to pursue whatever brings her happiness.
As for Close Personal Friends, there’s no release date announced just yet.
