Judge Juan Merchan Shown “My cousin is on the jury and he says Trump will be found guilty,” someone wrote in a Facebook comment.

A jury in a New York criminal trial found former President Donald Trump guilty on all charges, and the verdict was handed down on May 30.

“You guys have been worked hard!!!!”

“Dear Attorneys: Today the Court was made aware of a comment posted on the Unified Court System’s public Facebook page and we are writing to let you know,” Marchan wrote.

“My cousin is on the jury and says Trump will be found guilty,” one comment from “Michael Anderson,” according to Marchan’s notes. “Thank you all for your hard work!!!!” the comment read.

“The comments are allegedly from a week ago, in response to a routine UCS notice posted on May 29, 2024, regarding oral argument in the Fourth Appellate Division that is unrelated to this proceeding,” Marchant noted. “Both the post, entitled ‘Fourth Appellate Division will hold oral argument at 10am this morning,’ and the comments can be viewed at https://www.facebook.com/NewYorkCourts/.”

The post where Marchan said he left his comment does not currently appear to be on the Facebook page he cited.

Trump, who is seen as the presumptive Republican presidential nominee in 2024, is currently seeking to win the presidential election scheduled for later this year.
