Meteor Shower And Satellite ‘Train’ Caught On Camera: “Fairly Bright And Impressive”

Earlier this month, the Perseid meteor shower delighted skywatchers as they saw shooting star-like cosmic objects falling from the night sky. But one of his telescopes in Hawaii captured an impressive sight, and a video of it is now going viral. The highlight was not a meteor shower, but a “train” of satellites moving through the sky.by BBC, the group of 15 dots that appeared on the upper horizon were SpaceX’s Starlink satellites. This video was taken by the Subaru Telescope on Mauna Kea.

Filmed on August 11th, the clip was posted on the official YouTube channel.

The description of the video reads, “On the peak day of the Perseid meteor shower, we specially live-streamed the night sky above the Subaru Telescope. This is a scene captured live by chance.”

He added that the satellite was “pretty bright and impressive.”

The Perseid meteor shower is considered the best meteor shower of the year. The Perseid meteor shower can be seen from July to September. Peak intensity is usually reached on August 12th or 13th, depending on the year.
