Michael Brown Addresses Misconduct Allegation Admitting to ‘Lack of Judgment’

Dr. Michael Brown, Nationally Syndicated Host line of fire On his radio show, he admitted that he displayed a “lack of judgment” in his interactions with a former female staffer who accused him of sexual misconduct 23 years ago, which he denies. The woman in question (pseudonym: Erin) said: lloyds report According to (TRR), she quit her job at Brown's fire academy in 2002 because he frequently spanked her, kissed her on the lips, and held her hand.

In a statement shared with christian post And TRR Brown, dean, founder, and professor of practical theology at FIRE School of Ministry, acknowledged that he and his wife knew Erin and considered her “part of the family.” However, he denied any sexual misconduct.

“Nancy and I are both shocked and horrified by the various accusations, allegations, false statements, and misrepresentations. That is why we endorse the Board's immediate decision to launch a thorough independent investigation. I supported it wholeheartedly,” Brown said.

“Nancy and I had a relationship with the woman in question and considered her like a member of our family, and she was acting like someone who viewed our relationship the same way. However, even though she was not part of the family and was not sexual in any sense of the word, my interactions with her reflected a significant lack of judgment on my part.” added Brown.

In an interview with TRR, Erin explained that she attended Brownsville Revival Ministry School in 1999, when she was 18 years old. At the time, Brown served as the school's president until he was fired in 2000. Brown later started FIRE Ministry School in Pensacola. , was located in Florida until the school moved to North Carolina in 2003.

“He was supposed to be a spiritual father,” Erin told TRR about Brown. “He was supposed to take care of me.”

She added that she agreed to follow Brown as he opened a new school and to call him “Dad” at his request.

Erin had a difficult home life when she was young, so she was initially grateful for Brown's concern. She noted that they sent each other letters expressing their love.

“We all had such respect for him, so we considered this a blessing,” Erin's sister told TRR.

Less than a year after she started working at her new school, Erin was involved in leading the Kansas City International House of Prayer during the sexual misconduct scandal involving Brown (founder Mike Bickle). ) said he started holding her hand.

“He loaded it up in his truck…and he said, 'You all know that I think of[Erin]as my daughter,' and he said, 'That's why we're holding hands, “Because she's like a daughter to me,” she said.

Erin also noted that holding hands eventually evolved into other touching, including kissing. One day, when she was alone in Brown's office, Brown asked her to kiss him on the lips. At first I refused, but that day I just couldn't resist. On the other hand, when two people spent time alone, a kiss on the lips became part of the farewell.

“[Brown]wasn't asking for kisses anymore,” she recalled. “It was (Brown) leaning down to kiss him. … I knew I couldn't stop it, or I felt like I couldn't stop it.”

Brown added that he then started spanking Erin more frequently.

According to TRR, multiple former employees of the department reportedly witnessed some of the misconduct between Brown and Erin, including Erin sitting on Brown's lap.

Erin also told the magazine that while Brown and his wife Nancy were away, she discovered a letter in which he confessed to having an inappropriate relationship with a married woman.

“The letter basically includes what they're talking about, how they dream of having sexual relations with each other, and what they want to do with each other, how she wraps her legs around him. It was about how he was involved in it,' ” Erin said.

However, Ms Brown denied having an affair but said she had previously confessed to an emotional relationship and that the matter had since been resolved.

“In my 53 years in the Lord and over 50 years with Nancy, I can say with certainty that I have never committed adultery or been sexually intimate with another woman. There is nothing like that in the complaint,” he told CP in a statement on Monday. . “Yet, with humility and the fear of the Lord, I must ask whether the articles on the Lloyds report are the best way to address these allegations and accusations,” Brown said. “Will this bring glory to the Lord, will it edify the body, will it bring healing and restoration, or will it advance the cause of truth?”

Despite Brown's denials, the fire commission reportedly hired the law firm of Mitchell Stein Carey Chapman two weeks ago to conduct an independent investigation and will share the results with the public once completed.

Erin said her experience with Brown made her distrust ministry leaders. Ms. Brown, for her part, claimed she was unaware of the impact his actions had on her and asked her for forgiveness and a chance to make amends to heal.

“The fact is that my actions towards her were certainly foolish and irresponsible – but in no way sexual or lewd – and my first priority, like Nancy's, was to provide her with an acceptable environment. “It's about having the opportunity to meet together and heal and take full responsibility for things that obviously hurt her deeply and that I thought I had dealt with 23 years ago.” said.

“Unfortunately, when Nancy and I learned through the Lloyd's report that this woman had anger in her heart against me, we were not allowed to follow Jesus' command. Matthew 5:23-26However, you will only be given the option to provide a response to articles published online. What happened to the Bible process? ” he asked.

“That being said, if it is true that she has been living with this pain for 23 years and that I am to blame for it, then I am deeply mortified and would like to beg for forgiveness and a chance to heal and restore.” Her health remains our top priority.”
