Michael Cohen Stealing from Trump ‘More Serious of a Crime Than Falsifying Business Records’

CNN senior legal analyst Ellie Honig said Monday about the station’s coverage of former President Donald Trump’s business records trial, in which witness Michael Cohen admitted to stealing money from Trump’s organization. He said it was a more serious crime than what Trump is being charged with.

“The way this issue was directly addressed and addressed is what Julia Louis-Dreyfus would call ‘yada, yada, yada,'” Honig said. I mean, that’s what Michael Cohen said. ”

“I think that was George Costanza,” host Dana Bash said.

Host Jake Tapper said, “No, no, it was Elaine.”

“It was Elaine,” Honig said.

Mr. Tapper said, “It was actually the girl Costanza was dating. Sorry, please go first.”

Honig continued, “It was first-hand testimony that Michael Cohen described what happened. I didn’t think I would,” he said, explaining the whole thing. That’s very different from, “I stole $60,000 from his boss in the transaction that is at the heart of this case.” By the way, the fact that he was charged with theft is significant. This is because stealing $60,000 through fraud is theft in New York State, a more serious crime than falsifying business records. ”
