Michelle Obama will not run for president

Former first lady Michelle Obama will not run for president, Crystal Carson, communications director for Obama’s office, reported. NBC News.

“As former first lady Michelle Obama has stated many times over the years, she will not run for president,” Carson said, according to the newspaper. “Mrs. Obama supports the reelection campaigns of President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris.”

“President Obama and Michelle Obama were instrumental in the fight to defeat Donald Trump and elect President Biden and Vice President Harris for the first time. We are grateful to have the voices and support of these people,” Biden campaign spokesman Kevin Munoz said in a statement, according to NBC News.

During a conversation with Naga Munchetty on “BBC Breakfast” interview In 2022, the former first lady said she doesn’t intend to run for president, saying she doesn’t like being asked if she’ll run for president.

Biden previously served as vice president alongside President Barack Obama for eight years and appears to be on track to win the 2024 Democratic presidential nomination. Biden is the oldest president in U.S. history, turning 86 by the end of his second term.
