Michigan’s Donovan Edwards blocking out noise amid team’s sign-stealing allegations

The rumors and speculation are pretty loud everywhere, but the sound has not reached Ann Arbor.

Of course, the University of Michigan football program is plagued by the sign-stealing controversy from last season, which ended in the school winning a national championship.

But running back Donovan Edwards, who scored the Wolverines' first two touchdowns in that title game, said he doesn't care about the allegations or what anyone has to say about the team.

“I haven't heard anything personally. What we're concerned about is what happened today, not anything else,” Edwards told Fox News Digital in a recent interview. “What we're concerned about is what's going on in Schembechler Hall, not what other people will say or what controversy will arise. We can only control what we can control, and that's our attitude, our effort and our day-to-day actions.”

The scheme led to Level I violations by both Jim Harbaugh, who went on to play for the Los Angeles Chargers, and Connor Stallions, the alleged ringleader of the scheme.

The Stallions were allegedly involved in a scheme to purchase tickets to games of Michigan's opponents and have people attend games and videotape sideline signals from the stands.

Earlier this month, the University of Michigan received a draft NCAA notice of charges that found evidence that the Stallions were wearing Central Michigan uniforms during a sideline pass during a scheduled 2023 Chippewas football game against Michigan State, the Wolverines' in-state rival.

The notice of allegations also revealed that Sherone Moore, who was promoted to head coach after Harbaugh's departure, could face a suspension and show cause penalty for allegedly deleting text messages between him and the Stallions.
