Middle school teacher accused of raping her former student who’s now in high school, sending nude video of herself to teen

The latest teacher sexual scandals include child sex crimes against Utah middle school teachers. The teacher is accused of sending a nude video of himself to a former student and raping a teenage boy.

Maloli Neilson, 28, was arrested Monday and charged in 4th District Court with first-degree felony rape and third-degree felony distribution of adult porn.

“When the defendant was confronted about the video, she admitted she was an individual in the video and began crying.”

Neilson is a teacher at Delta Middle School. School staff page Listing Neilson as an “art specialist”, but her photos are not included.

Last week, the Millard County Sheriff's Office was asked to investigate “an alleged illegal sexual conduct” between Neilson and a student. KSL-TVThis is what makes the students realize they are “currently in high school.” The student is said to have been in Neilson's class from 2021-22 and 2022-23.

According to the alleged victim, the victim notified police that he and Neilson were having sex in May 2024. Prosecutors said he was 15 at the time and Neilson “occupied a special position of trust.”

Neilson is also accused of sending porn videos to students through the Snapchat app around December 6, 2024.

“The defendant sent his nude video to the alleged victim, and several other students have recently reported that he had seen the video and had recently faced the defendant about the video,” said court documents filed by the Millard County Attorney's Office.

Police interviewed “some of the suspected victim friends who reported seeing the video and reported that they could identify the defendant as a naked individual in the video.” Gebhardt Daily. “One of the individuals interviewed reported that when the defendant was confronted about the video, she admitted she was an individual in the video and began crying.”

“The victim asked a friend to record a video from the victim's phone, so that the friend has a copy of the video on his phone,” according to the bill. “My friend reported that he had deleted the video from his phone.”

The suspect told police that “he spent time in her classroom after spending time at school,” even after he was no longer a Neilson student.

The student said Neilson would allow him and his friends to play basketball at the school gym when the school closes.

The Millard School District announced Tuesday that Neilson was on administrative leave until the results of the investigation were revealed.

“We are fully working with law enforcement and appreciate the thorough and professional handling of the issue,” the Millard School District said. “The investigation is ongoing, but we cannot provide additional details. However, we want to reassure the community that they remain immovable in their commitment to student safety and well-being.”
