Migrant mob kicks, punches NYPD cops in vicious attack — then 4 get released without bail

Surveillance cameras outside an immigrant shelter captured a group of immigrants kicking and punching two New York City police officers over the weekend. new york post report.

The incident occurred Saturday evening in front of a shelter in Times Square. Video showed officers directing the migrants to move before a physical altercation broke out between the officers and one of the suspects.

After the officer wrestled the unruly man to the ground, the remaining migrants took turns punching, kicking and otherwise assaulting the officer while they grappled with the suspect. The rioters managed to free the friend from the officers and all fled the scene on foot.

New York City police later arrested five people on suspicion of being involved in the assault.

According to law enforcement sources, the newspaper reported that the migrants included Darwin Andres Gomez Izquiel, 19, Kelvin Servato Arocha, 19, Juarez Wilson, 21, and Yeoman. Four people, including Rebellon, 24, were charged with assault and released without bail. A fifth asylum seeker, João Boada, 22, was arrested on Monday night and charged with attempted assault on a police officer, the paper’s sources said.

One of the officers involved in the altercation suffered cuts to his face, and another sustained injuries to the side of his body. WNBC report.

According to the newspaper, Rebellon already has two open cases for assault and robbery. He is accused of pushing, punching and biting a Nordstrom Rack employee after allegedly witnessing the theft, sources told the Post. In a separate attempted robbery charge, Leveron is accused of punching a loss prevention worker at a Herald Square Macy’s.

Patrick Hendry, Chairman of the Police Benevolent Association said“Assaults against police officers are widespread, and the reason for that is the revolving door we see in cases like this. The justice system doesn’t protect us while we do our job.” It is impossible for police officers to effectively deal with crime and disorder if they are not protected.”

The Post reported that more than 172,000 immigrants who entered the United States through the southern border are currently residing in New York City. The city’s shelter system currently holds more than 67,000 migrants.

Earlier this month, New York City Democratic Mayor Eric Adams issued an 11 p.m. to 6 a.m. curfew at some immigrant shelters following complaints from local residents, Blaze News previously reported. Reported.
