Hundreds of migrants illegally crossed the U.S.-Mexico border early Tuesday and stopped to take photos at a section of border wall near Jacumba, California, Fox News footage showed.
The migrants, most of them single adult men, slipped past Mexican troops on the Mexican side of the border and slipped through a hole in the border wall without facing any resistance.
The immigrants came from countries around the world, including Nepal, India, Vietnam, China and Mauritania.

Among the migrants who crossed the border on Tuesday were those from countries the Border Patrol considers to be national security concerns to the U.S. – known as Special Interest Aliens (SIAs). These migrants are supposed to undergo additional vetting by the Department of Homeland Security during the process, but this has proven difficult because many of these countries do not share databases or records with the U.S.
The migrants, who were well-dressed and carrying cellphones, asked Fox News’ border team for directions to the Border Patrol station to process their cases, but only two officers greeted them there.
As the migrants waited to be picked up, many of them jubilantly took photos of themselves in front of the California border wall, celebrating their arrival in the United States.
As the sun rose on Tuesday morning, papers torn up by Indian nationals could be seen discarded on the ground at the border as migrants from Colombia and China waited to be picked up by border patrol agents.

San Diego County Supervisor Jim Desmond called the footage “insane” and warned of dire consequences for allowing illegal immigrants across the border.
“Total chaos will soon be unleashed on the streets of San Diego,” Desmond posted on X.
There were 5,200 encounters at the border in the past 24 hours, and an average of more than 5,000 per day over the past week, sources told Fox. There were 179,725 encounters at the southern border in April, compared to 211,992 in April 2023 and 189,357 in March 2024. These numbers are lower than the highs for 2022 and 2023, but still higher than pre-2021 numbers.

The video was filmed hours before the White House announced long-awaited executive action to block illegal immigrants from seeking asylum at the southern border if the number of encounters at the border exceeds a seven-day daily average of 2,500, officials said. The measure will remain in effect for 14 days after the seven-day average of encounters along the border falls below 1,500.
Officials said this will make it easier for immigration authorities to quickly remove individuals who have no legal basis to be in the United States.

Former President Donald Trump spoke out about President Biden’s executive order, arguing it would do absolutely nothing to stop migrants from flocking to the border.
“Villain Joe Biden has completely surrendered our southern border,” Trump said on Truth Social. “His weakness and extremism have led to a border invasion unlike anything we’ve ever seen. Other countries have emptied our prisons, mental hospitals and psychiatric hospitals and sent in their drug dealers, human traffickers and terrorists.”
“The fact is, Joe Biden’s executive order will not stop the invasion. It is weak, it is pathetic, and it will make the invasion worse.”
Fox News’ Adam Shaw contributed to this report.
