The Dodgers are set for a transformation in 2027.
While Shohei Ohtani and Mookie Betts are expected to remain, the team will likely see many new faces compared to the 2026 roster. Notably, Miguel Rojas has confirmed that he will not be returning, as he announced that NLCS Game 4 marked the end of his playing career.
The seasoned infielder expressed his gratitude on social media, reflecting on the incredible journey he experienced since coming back to LA in 2023.
“All I can say is THANK YOU for changing my life 💙,” Rojas shared.
He continued, “I will forever be grateful and so proud to have worn Dodger blue and represented this community every single day.”
Rojas initially debuted with the Dodgers in 2014 but was then traded to Miami before the 2015 season. He returned to Los Angeles in 2023, a year prior to the team winning consecutive World Series championships.
Throughout his tenure, Rojas played a vital role in fostering a strong team culture. At 37, he was seen as a leader, renowned for his defensive skills as an experienced infielder. He made a memorable mark in Dodgers postseason history, hitting a critical game-tying home run in the ninth inning of World Series Game 7 against the Blue Jays.
Although Rojas will not be in the Dodgers lineup next season, the legacy of the culture he helped create will persist.
