Anti-Hamas Militia in Gaza Backs Trump’s Peace Proposal

JERUSALEM — As discussions around the U.S. peace proposal unfold in Egypt, exclusive footage from the Peace Communication Center reveals leaders of anti-Hamas militias in Gaza backing President Donald Trump’s plan aimed at ending the ongoing conflict and facilitating the release of Israeli hostages.

This support comes amid reports of intense fighting in Khan Yunis, where clashes between anti-Hamas groups and Hamas terrorists could signify a shift in local governance in the troubled region.

“President Trump’s plan shows a pathway to ending violence and fostering peace in the Middle East,” stated Yasser Abu Shabab, head of an anti-Hamas militia in Gaza. His comments highlight a significant endorsement from groups that have long faced oppression under Hamas’s rule.

Interestingly, three members from various anti-Hamas militias expressed their backing for Trump’s peace initiative, emphasizing a potential turning point in the political landscape of Gaza. Ashraf al-Mansi, the leader of the People’s Northern Army, thanked Trump for the proposal, while Rami Hillis of the People’s Defense Forces noted their commitment to ensuring its success.

Reports indicate that this public display of support by anti-Hamas militias comes at a tumultuous time, particularly following the deadly Hamas incursion into Israel in October, which resulted in significant fatalities, including American citizens.

According to Michael Naham from the Peace Communication Center, this is the first clear indication of anti-Hamas forces’ capacity to challenge Hamas militarily, a considerable escalation compared to earlier skirmishes. Meanwhile, the CPC shared video evidence of intense clashes that led to the reported deaths of multiple Hamas operatives, including a commander.

In addition to the clashes, the Israel Defense Forces disclosed that Hamas has constructed terror tunnels beneath two hospitals in Gaza, raising serious humanitarian concerns, as using such facilities for military purposes is considered a war crime under international law.

As tensions rise, Hamas’s actions, including a recent operation to detain suspected collaborators, continue to draw response from local clans, leading to further violence. The al-Mujaida clan’s resistance is an example of how community dynamics are shifting in response to Hamas’s heavy-handed tactics.

Throughout Gaza, the population increasingly appears to support the anti-Hamas militias, with estimates suggesting their numbers may be growing. Observers speculate that the changing tides could hint at an unprecedented opportunity to end Hamas’s dominance in the region.
