Conflict Erupts Over Immigration Officials in Minneapolis

In Minneapolis, individuals identifying as “Antifa” have urged armed supporters to take action against immigration officials, whom they described with terms like “mass murderers” and “fascist occupiers.” This call to arms follows the recent death of Alex Preti, who was shot by Border Patrol agents.

Kyle Wagner, claiming the title of “master hate biter,” voiced these sentiments in several Instagram videos. He criticized Preti—a former intensive care nurse—labeling him as a “wannabe influencer” and arguing that such personas are worsening the city’s ongoing struggles.

Wagner expressed a mix of empathy and urgency, acknowledging the fears of women worried about their partners not returning home. He emphasized that, despite how difficult it may be, compliance is necessary. He insisted, “if we don’t end this, they’ll keep killing us.” He added that ordinary citizens must be prepared to defend themselves against what he termed the gunfire from these officials.

He insisted on the necessity for immediate action, stating, “There’s no time left to let this issue drag on. This is the iron front line.” In another clip, Wagner, who noted he cannot legally arms himself, called upon licensed gun owners to “show up.”

Sean Holster, a former Minneapolis Republican Party chairman, harshly criticized such rhetoric, suggesting that individuals seeking influencer status should leave Minneapolis. He believes that the presence of these so-called influencers contributes significantly to the city’s tension, estimating they account for about 80% of the problem.

Further tensions have surfaced following the shooting of Preti, who was reportedly recording immigration officers when he was killed. While the agents claimed he approached them with a firearm and resisted, this narrative has been challenged by eyewitness accounts and videos.

President Donald Trump commented on the situation, indicating his administration is thoroughly reviewing the events surrounding the shooting. He expressed a general aversion to violence but recognized the severity of Preti’s actions at the time of the incident.

In summary, the combination of unrest, calls to action from activists, and reactions from officials paints a complex picture of the current situation in Minneapolis regarding immigration enforcement and community responses.
