A Minnesota man who killed a Los Angeles model who was found bound and gagged inside a refrigerator in September 2023 in a luxury downtown apartment has been arrested, authorities said.

Los Angeles police announced Wednesday that Magnus Daniel Humphrey, who is on probation for federal drug charges, was taken into custody at his home in Minnesota on an unrelated federal warrant.

He now faces murder charges in Marisa Mooney’s death, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

Mooney, 31, was found dead in her apartment on September 12, 2023, during a police welfare check requested by her family. She was last seen alive on September 6, when she was seen on a surveillance camera at an apartment complex.

An autopsy report obtained by Fox Los Angeles said her body showed signs of blunt force trauma, including scrapes, lacerations and bruises around her head and neck, torso and extremities.

The report said her body was “pushed inside a refrigerator” and there was blood on the floor outside the refrigerator. Her wrists and ankles were bound, and the restraints were “tied together behind her back with various electronic cords and clothing. Other clothing was found around her face and neck.”

Her mouth was stuffed with clothing, the report said.

Police said security video from the apartment also showed the man using the key FOB to enter the elevator and carrying a plastic bag to her unit.

Authorities have not disclosed the relationship between Humphrey and Mooney or the motive for the killing. Her death was ruled a homicide, and a toxicology report said cocaine was found in her system.

Mooney’s family said she died when she was two months pregnant. She primarily worked as a real estate agent showing million-dollar homes at Nestseekers International, but she intended to return to modeling, her sister Jordan Poulin previously told FOX News Digital. Told.
