Minor League Worker Picks Up Dog Waste from the Field with Bare Hands

A dog on the field during a game prompted some extreme cleanup efforts.

Things got a bit chaotic at Atrium Health Ballpark on Sunday as the Cannonballers squared off against the Carolina Mudcats. In the bottom of the third inning, the team mascot, a dog, couldn’t hold it any longer and dashed from the sidelines straight to home plate.

This unfortunate incident, though amusing, created a bit of a mess after a stadium employee was left with the unpleasant task of cleaning it up—using his bare hands.

Fans quickly reacted online.

Clearly, the situation highlighted a need for Atrium Health Ballpark to rethink its poop cleanup procedures. Let’s just hope this employee doesn’t work in food service.

The Cannonballers ended the game with a victory, winning 3-0.
