Instead of “Assman” Cosmo Kramer, how about MLB umpire Cosmo Kramer?
During Saturday’s Angels-Braves game in Anaheim, California, umpire James Hoy appeared on the broadcast wearing a shirt featuring the famous “Seinfeld” character underneath his official uniform.
Crew chief Hoye was announcing a confirmed solo home run by Braves utility player Whit Merrifield when Angels announcers Wayne Randazzo and Mark Gubicza noticed the shirt and commented on it.
“This will definitely qualify as a home run,” Randazzo began.
“That’s Kramer on his shirt,” he said. “Look at this. There’s a picture of Kramer on his shirt.”
Then Gubicza jumped in.
“Yes,” Gubicza said, “that’s Cosmo Kramer.”
“I can’t believe it,” Randazzo said with a laugh. “What an incredible sight I just saw. Check out this picture, it’s incredible.”
Then Randazzo Post to X He called the moment “one of the top three highlights of my career.”
Hoy, 53, made his MLB debut in 2003 and played in the World Series in 2019 and 2022.

Most recently, he served as home plate umpire and crew chief at the All-Star Game.
Merrifield’s home run led the Braves to a thumping 11-3 victory over the Angels.
