Taylor Frankie Paul in Controversy Amid “Mormon Wives” Show
Weeks prior to her removal as a prospective “Bachelorette,” Taylor Frankie Paul raised concerns among her “Mormon Wives” co-stars.
During a Zoom meeting on March 7th, cast members expressed serious worries to ABC executives about the future of the show if Paul remained involved. NBC News shared these details on Thursday.
These concerns followed a February 2026 incident involving Paul and her ex, Dakota Mortensen. Currently, there is an ongoing domestic assault investigation related to the incident in Utah.
Audio from the tense meeting revealed that three executives from Disney participated, including Rob Mills, the vice president of unscripted alternative entertainment.
As worries about Paul intensified, cast members voiced fears regarding safety, reputational harm, and the show’s future.
One unnamed cast member mentioned feeling uncomfortable filming while Paul faced investigation.
“This is a dangerous situation, a sad situation,” they reportedly said. “We don’t know how to navigate it because Taylor is a friend of ours.”
The release of a video allegedly showing Paul’s actions deeply unsettled several cast members, who described it as “heartbreaking” and “upsetting.” As a result, they decided to pause filming for the upcoming season.
Paul’s legal issues trace back to 2023 when she was arrested following another domestic dispute with Mortensen, which had been part of the “Mormon Wives” storyline.
She faced charges including assault in the presence of a child and domestic violence. In 2025, she pleaded guilty to aggravated assault with some charges dismissed, records show.
Filming for “Mormon Wives” was stopped after the February incident, during which a concerning video of Paul attacking Mortensen circulated in 2023.
According to footage obtained by TMZ, Paul is seen repeatedly telling Mortensen to stop, pushing him, kicking him, and even throwing a chair as her daughter, Indi, was crying nearby.
A spokesperson for Paul dismissed the footage, characterizing it as part of a “desperate” effort by Mortensen to harm her without considering the child’s welfare.
Following the video’s release, ABC canceled her season of The Bachelorette, originally set to premiere soon.
In response, a representative for Paul stated that she has finally found the courage to confront her accusers after years of abuse and is taking steps to safeguard herself and her children.
They expressed gratitude for ABC’s support, emphasizing her focus on her family’s safety. “Too many women suffer in silence,” they added, as Paul explores her options and prepares to share her story.
