Most don’t trust Supreme Court on election cases: Poll

Most Americans say they have little confidence that the Supreme Court will make the “right decisions” in cases related to the 2024 election, according to a survey. CNN poll released Monday.

When asked how much they trusted the Supreme Court on this issue, 58% of respondents said they had “no trust at all” or “somewhat trust,” compared to 23% and 35%, respectively. Only 11% of respondents said they had “a lot” of confidence in the Supreme Court, while 31% said they had “somewhat” confidence in the Supreme Court.

The poll, conducted Jan. 25-30, found that confidence in the Supreme Court over 2024 election litigation is slightly divided along partisan lines.

Among Democrats, 63% of respondents said they had either no trust at all (27%) or only some trust (36%). Opinions of the court were high among Republicans in the poll, with 48% saying they either have no confidence in it at all (17%) or only have some confidence in it (31%). Independents also expressed similar views to Democrats.
