mWhite has the acclaimed quality of a stadium headlining band that performs a theater with a capacity of 2,000 people. Formed almost 20 years ago in Scranton, Pennsylvania, the metalcore five-piece was laid out thickly with dance girls, fireworks and wall runner visuals, along with blade runner visuals that match the huge riffs of recent singles. Meltdown. Lead vocalist Chris “Motionless” Cerulli is dark and handsome in a refined black coat, discomfortably understated compared to his bandmates in corpse paint. But his goth smart against the cartoon-style metal environment is a neat analogue of classic metal cores with band sounds, glams and gothic edges.
He may be relatively stable, but Celli's impressive, adaptable voice carries the show's emotional and musical surge. Another life allows him to embrace post-hardcore melodrama. Ballard's masterpiece is undoubtedly his best showcase. Hardcore Ripper Slaughterhouse Guest vocals from King Ryan Kirby's Fit spark a pure genocide in the pit, even if the hardcore hero Brian Garris knocks as much as the recording person.
The band has an attractive Misfit Meat trend towards Halloween plays. Synth-Pop Jam Werewolf is properly featured in a thriller monologue from Vincent Price, with the dancers wearing a series of classic costumes (skeletons, cheerleaders, and chainsaw whilders). When it means a girl-like outfit in rodent ears and rubber miniskirts during rats, it's stupid to know, especially when Celli joins temporarily in their daily lives. The song is a riot glamour stomper, cliché, but nothing worse (sample of lyric poem: “Red Roses / My Heart is Black”).
White's movements have long been likened to Marilyn Manson. This is an unfortunate comparison for 2025. Their music is heavier than Manson, but the embrace of gramma rock swagger and Gothic drama certainly rivals, but with a more serious attitude than blackmail. After seeing this aesthetic used for evil purposes, it's fun to spend time with a band who appreciates its inherent playfulness.
