An MSNBC guest on Monday was outraged by a judge’s decision to reduce former President Trump’s bail in a New York civil fraud case, claiming Trump has his “own private justice system.”
Former New York Assistant Attorney General Tristian Snell was asked about how the court process worked on MSNBC’s “Jose Díaz Balart Report.”
“Do I have to ask? Honestly, this is so frustrating that I don’t even know what to do. I don’t even know if I care what process the judges end up with, whatever it is. , it’s flawed.” That’s all I can say,” Snell said. “This is a different process for this person. We have decided that he will undergo his own private court of justice.
“He has a private plane,” he continued. “He has a private club and he lives there. Basically he organized a private militia to take over the Capitol. Now he’s trying to get a private justice system. “This is a total travesty. It wouldn’t happen to anyone else.” Yes, there is.”
Mr. Snell was also asked how the judge legally arrived at this decision, and bluntly argued that this was a “serious miscarriage of justice.”

“The Court of Appeals just decided that they’re going to swoop in and change that, that’s it, and now the AG’s office can try to outdo them.” he said. “I don’t know if there’s a remedy for the AG’s office to go to the Court of Appeals, the high court here in New York, and ask them to basically vacate this order, but in my opinion, this is a detailed I don’t know, but unless there are some extenuating circumstances that we will learn here, this appears to be an absolutely grave miscarriage of justice.”
Former prosecutor David Henderson joined Diaz and Snell in suggesting that Trump was receiving special treatment.
“Former President Trump’s strategy is different. Last time you and I talked about this, we literally talked about this. I expect it to do for him.” So here he was, paying less money and giving him more time.” That’s what it comes down to,” Henderson said.
An appeals court on Monday reduced Trump’s bail, saying he must pay $175 million within the next 10 days.
