MSNBC Host And Legal Analyst Melt Down Over ‘Danger’ Of Trump’s ‘Chilling’ Rhetoric After Latest Gag Order

MSNBC host Nicole Wallace and legal analyst Andrew Wiseman expressed concern about Trump’s comments after a judge issued a gag order against former President Donald Trump on Tuesday.

Judge Juan Machan, who is overseeing Trump’s New York hush money case, said: orderThe former president would be prohibited from commenting on witnesses, prosecutors other than the district attorney, court officials, their families and potential jurors. Wallace and Wiseman discussed the order’s impact on the U.S. presidential election on “Deadline: The White House.” (Related: Judge sets trial date in Trump’s New York hush money criminal case)

“I don’t want to go any further without saying we should never feel normal,” Wallace said. “A man who was president of this country and who wants that privilege again represents such an immediate threat. Judge Ruttig’s testimony on January 6th rings in my head. Donald Trump is a clear and present danger. Clearly, the judge, Andrew Wiseman, considered him to be a clear and present danger to his trial.”

Mr. Wallace showed a diagram of a quote from the judge’s order during the segment, to which Mr. Wiseman responded.

The newspaper said that President Trump’s “extrajudicial statements went far beyond defending himself against an ‘attack’ by a ‘public figure.'” “Indeed, his statements were threatening, inflammatory, and defamatory, and the targets of his statements were directed at local officials, federal employees, court officials, prosecutors and case workers, and those who were not fulfilling their duties as citizens. inflammatory and extrajudicial statements certainly pose a risk of disrupting the orderly operation of this court.”

“That’s exactly what I was thinking,” Wiseman said of the quote. “It’s so appalling that yet another judge, not only a former president, but now a leading Republican candidate, would say this is what this country has become. When history is written, they will see this in terms of a real battle for the soul of our country, and what the judiciary must do to counter this real attack on what it means to be an American. You look at it from the perspective of, “What should we have done?” That means there is a rule of law in this country.”

Marchan on Monday rejected President Trump’s request to further delay the trial, setting the trial to begin on April 15.

“Judge Marchand should be commended for this action,” Wiseman added. “It is also noteworthy that he did not issue this document to all parties. He indicated that he was prone to such things and had done the same in the past. He issued this gag order against one person before him, and that’s Donald Trump. And that’s the exclusive scope of this gag order, and that’s a former president of the United States. And it shows where we are as a country and what this election means for this country.”
