MSNBC host Stephanie Ruhl was furious on Friday over Elon Musk's acquisition of the then-Twitter Inc. and turning it into a tool for current President-elect Donald Trump's “Make America Great Again” movement. It is said that it was due to a tame.
Since the election, many prominent Democrats and liberal activists have left X, where conservatives are no longer suppressed, and moved to Bluesky, a Twitter alternative site. Comparing myself and other Democrats in X to “fat chickens” Mr. Ruhl said. On “Morning Joe,” she doesn't think leaving such an important platform is the best thing to do.
“The election is over. We're all smarter and better. I don't know if it's the right idea to leave Twitter and go to a friendlier place, Blue Sky, so we can echo Because it stays in the chamber,” she added.
“Elon Musk bought X and turned it into the social media arm of the MAGA movement. And we were sitting in the middle of it all through the campaign, probably like fat chickens being attacked all day long. You wouldn’t have realized you were sitting there.’ It’s just part of this MAGA message,” Ruhle complained.
Comcast is considering “spinning off” MSNBC, CNBC and other cable networks.
Ruhl's claims are not supported by recent reporting by CNN. Senior political data reporter Harry Enten revealed In 2022, the platform then called Twitter was controlled by Democrats. Political affiliation is now more even, with 48% of users identifying as Democrats and 47% of users identifying as Republicans.
“This new overall composition now better fits the overall electorate, Enten said.
As for whether Musk's acquisition of Twitter was worth it in dollar terms, Enten pointed out that Musk's net worth has increased from $252 billion in September to $314 billion now.
Another big acquisition by Mr. Musk could be on the horizon. He has publicly toyed with the idea of buying MSNBC from parent company Comcast.

When prompted about the idea by Donald Trump Jr., Musk later asked what MSNBC's fees would be. add“It's most likely to be the funniest outcome, especially if it's ironic.”
