“I think the entire American political system is corrupted by money,” Murphy said. I said in a Wednesday episode From the “Hasan Minhaj Don't Know” podcast.
Murphy also told comedian Hasan Minhaji that his party has not been exempted.
“I think Democrats have also been corrupted by money, much less than Republicans. [and] It's not so obvious, but I think it's ridiculous to pretend to be Democrats, some Democrats, not everyone, but in the end they spend a lot of time with donors. It is influenced by the fact that it is. ”
“But is that a real message? “Hey, are we more corrupt than others?” Minhaji asked.
“No, you… to show me how to solve the problem,” replied Murphy.
In the wake of the 2024 election, Murphy provided his thoughts on the Democratic losses on the social platform X thread.
“We don't listen enough. Murphy said at the time about the Americans who left on social media.
“And when you like progressive [Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.)] They are proactively chasing the elites who hold back people, and they can be avoided as dangerous populists. why? Perhaps because true economic populism is bad for our high income base,” he added.
Sanders also said ignorance was a major factor in the recent elections at the expense of the White House and Senate, about the same time Democrats had largely ignored working class priorities.
“This country today is in a position to get more of it if you have the whole game equipped, money and strength, and everyone else is stepping on the water. So the country is in a revolutionary mood,” Murphy told Minhaji.
