Tech magnate Elon Musk on Thursday suggested that the Trump administration impose limitations on vehicle destruction and expressed worries over protesters targeting Tesla dealerships domestically and internationally.
“The president made it clear. We are going after them,” Musk stated during his appearance on Fox News’ Special Report on Thursday.
“We’re tracking who finances, spreads misinformation, and gains from this. We are pursuing them,” he elaborated.
His remarks came shortly after Attorney General Pam Bondi asserted that assaults on Tesla’s properties would be categorized as “domestic terrorism” and called on Democratic leaders to apologize for their remarks regarding the electric vehicle company. Numerous individuals have already faced charges for vandalism.
“It’s truly unfortunate,” Musk remarked to Fox’s Brett Baier. “The actual issue isn’t the individuals. It isn’t the deranged person vandalizing Tesla dealerships. It’s the influencers disseminating propaganda that provokes such actions.”
“These are the genuine antagonists here, and we’re going to pursue them,” added the Tesla chief.
Alongside criticism from lawmakers, the “Tesla Takedown” movement has inspired people worldwide to liquidate stock, sell vehicles to “halt masks,” and collaborate with President Trump to diminish government expenditures through significant funding reductions, extensive layoffs, and increased efficiency (DOGE).
This group led the global protest and on Saturday, Worldwide Day of Action against the company.
Their actions have also led to the exclusion of Tesla from an automotive show in Vancouver due to safety worries stemming from the demonstrations.
“Tesla is a peaceful enterprise that produces exceptional vehicles and products. That is all,” Musk remarked to Fox News. “No one is inflicting harm.”
“Nonetheless, violence is taking place. They’re attacking Tesla dealerships,” he noted. “They are firing weapons at the store. There are threats against individuals.”
Trump, who recently bought Tesla shares earlier this month, indicated that the attacks have escalated compared to those on January 6, 2021, when his key supporters were present as the stocks plummeted.
“I view these individuals as terrorists, just as everyone else does,” the president told reporters at the White House last week. “When I witness those showrooms being set ablaze, and cars bursting into flames, not just one or two but seven, eight, or ten being destroyed.”
“These are terrorists. What occurred on January 6th was nothing like this, I assure you,” he added.
