“He knows I love him very much.”

“That’s what I’m saying [Biden] “Who deserves to be on Mount Rushmore: Lincoln or Joe Biden?” Staal asked.

“You have Teddy Roosevelt there. He’s brilliant. I’m not saying take him out. But you can add Biden,” Pelosi replied.

Elsewhere in the interview, Pelosi called Biden a “very influential president” and argued that he was “on top of his game” when he decided not to run for a second term a few weeks ago.

Pelosi also denied that she led a campaign to “pressure” Staal to drop out of the race, despite previous reports that she played a key role in Democrats’ alleged behind-the-scenes efforts to persuade Biden to step down.

“No, I was not the leader of any pressure [campaign]”Let me tell you what I haven’t done. I haven’t called anybody. I haven’t called anybody. I could have always told him, ‘I haven’t called anybody,'” Pelosi argued.

“My point is, whatever he decides, we have to campaign more aggressively,” she added.

“He knows I love him very much.”
