Lydia Moynihan: “This is Trump’s presidency my way”
Lydia Moynihan recently joined Fox Across America with Jimmy Failla, sharing her thoughts on President Trump’s early actions aimed at fulfilling his long-term economic goals for the nation.
Singer Nancy Sinatra labeled President Trump’s reference to her father’s song “My Way” as “blasphemy.” The incident occurred after Trump posted a video on Truth Social featuring Frank Sinatra performing the iconic track. This came amid ongoing threats to take military action against Iran for reportedly breaching a ceasefire.
The lyrics, starting with “And now/the end is near/and I/face the final curtain,” seem to echo Trump’s past declarations about destruction.
Commenting on the situation, one user on X noted, “Oh @NancySinatra won’t be happy about this. Trump is against everything Frank stood for. He was a great champion of equality and supported the civil rights movement.”
Nancy Sinatra, now 85, later tweeted, “This is blasphemy,” and shared a skeptical user comment that criticized Trump’s linking of the song to his political stance, asserting her belief that her father wouldn’t have supported Trump’s views.
One commenter remarked, “Trump may have loved Sinatra, but Sinatra didn’t love Trump,” highlighting the disconnect between the two figures.
Another user expressed, “This is absolutely disgusting. Frank Sinatra would never have allowed that monster in the White House to use his music.” They emphasized Sinatra’s honor and authenticity compared to Trump.
Sinatra responded to a fan’s inquiry about blocking Trump’s use of the song, stating, “Unfortunately, that’s not the case. Only the publisher can do anything about it.”
Following Trump’s inauguration in 2017, he danced to “My Way” with Melania Trump, during which Sinatra humorously remarked to the news, “Just remember the first line of the song.” However, she later removed that post, denying any anger regarding Trump’s usage of it.
Nancy Sinatra further commented that the uproar over the song was a mere joke, stating, “What a terrible twist on a harmless joke.” When asked about her feelings towards her father’s song being associated with Trump, she had previously indicated, “Actually, I wish him the best. A good president helps the whole world. I don’t think anyone wants to be a bad president.”
