Natasha Cloud Criticizes Sex Toy Tossing in WNBA Games
Natasha Cloud has had enough of the sex toys being thrown onto the court during WNBA games. The Chicago Sky star, who contributed 17 points in her team’s recent 73-70 victory over the Valkyries at Wintrust Arena, expressed her disapproval after witnessing the bizarre act multiple times, particularly during the third quarter.
The occurrence briefly interrupted the game, which ultimately ended with Sydney Taylor sinking a game-winning three-pointer at the buzzer.
Cloud, who previously played for the Liberty, did not hold back during the postgame press conference, criticizing those responsible—mainly men—for this behavior. “Y’all lame as f–k,” she stated. “In most of these situations, it’s men. And let me tell you, the gayest thing you can do is go to a sex shop, buy a dildo, and bring it to a women’s game just to throw it on the court.”
She continued, “I firmly believe that anyone who has so much of a problem with a marginalized group should just admit they might be part of it because the hate is really unwarranted. It reflects more on the individual’s internal struggles than it does on the group as a whole.”
Interestingly, this incident marked the second consecutive night that sex toys were tossed onto the court during a WNBA game; a similar event occurred during a matchup between the Dream and the Sparks the night before. The Dream’s Angel Reese even pointed out the offender on video.
This alleged perpetrator faced arrest and an indefinite ban from all WNBA, NBA, and affiliated league events, as reported by Front Office Sports.
Cloud further remarked, “The men throwing these items show just how weak they are—extremely weak. It says a lot about how they view women.”
She added, “But honestly, we don’t care. It disrupts the game, and to us, it’s lame. Keep throwing them if you want; you’re only signaling something else. You’d probably be a lot happier if you were just yourself.”
The phenomenon of tossing sex toys onto the court gained notoriety last season, seeming to serve as a promotion for a cryptocurrency brand. Such acts occurred at games in Atlanta, Chicago, New York, Phoenix, and Los Angeles. Notably, Fever star Sophie Cunningham was hit by one of these projectiles. Various individuals have been arrested for similar offenses, including a case where a 12-year-old fan was struck by a sex toy at a Liberty game, with the perpetrator being 32-year-old Charles Burgess.
Cloud concluded her comments with a humorous observation about how people must manage to hide their lewd purchases on financial statements. “Can you imagine it says ‘dildo’ on their credit card? They’d probably have to explain to their financial advisor, ‘What’s this green dildo, Chad? Are you good, Richard? Like, really? Are you good, Paul?’ I mean, it’s definitely a specific demographic.”
