Former Congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard has the full support of the National Marshals Association, which is urging the Senate to confirm her as the incoming Director of National Intelligence in President Donald Trump's administration.
In a letter to Sen. Tom Cotton (R-Ark.) on Monday, association president and Idaho Sheriff Kieran Donahue said: prompted Leaders approved Gabbard, the Daily Wire reported.

Ms. Gabbard has demonstrated a commitment to addressing the critical disconnect between our nation's intelligence agencies and local law enforcement in preparing for advanced and pervasive threats. The recent terrorist attack on New Orleans is a stark reminder of the need for seamless coordination. In the immediate aftermath of the attacks, actionable clues provided by the sheriffs of Harris County, Texas, and Fulton County, Georgia came in handy. These events, like the 9/11 attacks, highlight the urgent need for local law enforcement to have a seat at the strategic planning table. Ms. Gabbard has pledged to make this a top priority.
Ms. Gabbard's unparalleled experience at the local, state and federal levels of government, as well as her leadership skills as a lieutenant colonel in the U.S. Army Reserve, make her well-suited for this important role. Her proven leadership skills and deep understanding of national security threats have earned her the trust and respect of sheriffs across the country.
Gabbard endorsed current President-elect Donald Trump as a presidential candidate in August. She said that during the president's first term, he “did not start a new war,” according to a Breitbart News report at the time.
Gabbard announced her joining the Republican Party during a Trump rally in October, and Trump subsequently selected her to be his director of national intelligence.
“For more than 20 years, Tulsi has fought for our country and the freedoms of all Americans. As a former candidate for the Democratic presidential nomination, she has broad support from both parties and now I'm a proud Republican,'' Trump said.
Donahue's letter also said Gabbard's “demonstrated commitment to bridging national intelligence and local law enforcement priorities places her in a position to make a significant impact.”
“We urge the Committee to quickly approve Ms. Gabbard's nomination. Her leadership will strengthen partnerships, rebuild trust, and ensure the safety of communities across the country.” he concluded.
