Nationwide protests against ICE planned for Trump's birthday: 'These are paid instigators'

Upcoming Nationwide Protests Against Immigration Policies

There is a nationwide protest set for June 14th as a response to the administration’s immigration policies, notably coinciding with President Donald Trump’s birthday.

Organizers have planned around 1,500 protests across the country under the slogan “No Kings,” which is meant to coincide with Trump’s military parade in Washington, D.C., happening the same day.

“June 14th—Flag Day—Trump wants a major television show of his tanks for both the streets and his birthday, but the real power lies outside Washington,” the organizers stated.

“Rather than centralizing this birthday parade, we intend to demonstrate across communities nationwide to reject extreme politics and corruption,” they added.

Despite objections from California Governor Gavin Newsom, the call for protests remains strong, especially after violent riots erupted in Los Angeles following an immigration enforcement operation that led to confrontations between protesters and police.

These riots involved actions such as throwing rocks and bricks at officers, lighting fires, and looting stores. In response, President Trump labeled some of the protesters as “paid rebels.”

“In certain parts of Los Angeles, one could describe it as a rebellion. It was terrible, but these are paid troublemakers,” Trump noted. “It takes a deeply troubled individual to behave that way, but, however, there are often people financing it—though not in every situation.”

Protests are expected in various cities, including San Francisco, Los Angeles, Seattle, and New York, among others. Recently, law enforcement in Los Angeles and New York has detained hundreds of individuals as several protests have escalated into riots. In New York City, Mayor Eric Adams has emphasized a zero-tolerance policy for violence, leading to numerous arrests in Lower Manhattan this week.
