But on Tuesday, Brown addressed comments that were perceived as criticism of LeBron James’ eldest son, saying he’s “excited to watch him grow up.”

“Proud to have my son by my side in the NBA, reflects greatness and longevity! Bronny has all the tools to be successful and I am excited to watch him grow,” Brown wrote on X (formerly Twitter).

The Celtics defeated the Lakers 88-74 in a summer league game on Monday.

Bronny James struggled to score in the Lakers’ latest summer league game but flourished defensively.

Brown was named NBA Finals MVP last month after the Celtics won their league-record 18th championship. He agreed to a five-year, $304 million supermax contract extension in 2023, the largest contract in NBA history. The deal will earn Brown an estimated average annual salary of $60.8 million over the life of his contract.
