NBC leaves out CRITICAL context in Trump interview

Unlike Kamala Harris, President-elect Donald Trump is not afraid to sit down to dialogue with the opposition. He then gave his first sit-down interview since winning the 2024 election on NBC's “Meet the Press.”

And of course, what interviewer Kristen Welker had in mind was pointing out President Trump's plan for the immigration crisis.

“You promised from day one to abolish birthright citizenship. Is that still your plan?” Mr. Welker asked, and Mr. Trump quickly replied, “Of course it is.”

“But the 14th Amendment says, 'All persons born in the United States are citizens.' Can presidential actions circumvent the 14th Amendment?” Welker asked again. Ta.

“We have to end it. We're the only ones who have it,” Trump said. “When someone steps in, just one foot. One foot. We don't need two on our land. Congratulations. You're now a citizen of the United States. Yes, that's ridiculous so I'll stop.”

Welker continued to ask whether President Trump intended to do so through executive action, but said he needed to “get back to the people” first. Finally, he answered again, “If possible.”

glenn beck I can't help but point out the flaws in Mr. Welker's use of the Fourteenth Amendment in the “Glenn Beck Plan.” “This was written because of slavery. It was written because every citizen could vote.”

“So Southerners, Democrats, said, 'They're not citizens, they can't vote because they're from Africa,'” he continued. “If you were born here, even if you were born a slave, that was it. You were not an illegal immigrant,” Glenn explains.

“We're the only ones who have it. And the only reason we have it is because of slavery. This is a way to make sure the Democratic Party doesn't exclude black people from the vote again. That's what's really crazy,” he added.

Not only does Mr. Welker not seem to understand the history behind the 14th Amendment; Stu Bruguiere She points out that she does not understand the content of the proposed amendment itself.

“'All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and who are subject to the jurisdiction of the United States, are citizens of the United States and of the state in which they reside,'” Mr. Bruguière reads from the Fourteenth Amendment. “'And “Subject to that jurisdiction'' means that illegal immigrants are not included.''

“Being subject to that jurisdiction means you have to be based in that country. So you can just cross the border and say, 'Hey, I'm now subject to this jurisdiction.' It's not like that. You are a visitor,” continues Bruguiere.

“Or, in this case, the criminal crosses the border. So they don't necessarily have the protection of the 14th Amendment,” he added.
