Florida Airport Renamed in Honor of Trump

Florida has made a bold move, renaming an airport after former President Donald Trump, as declared by the U.S. Department of Transportation. Sean Duffy shared a video on Thursday, revealing that the sign for Palm Beach International Airport will now include Trump’s name.

Governor Ron DeSantis of Florida, a Republican, approved a bill that allows for this name change, passed by Congress earlier this year. The ceremony also marked the landing of Trump Force One, which was the first aircraft to arrive at the newly minted Donald J. Trump Presidential International Airport (DJT) at precisely 5:01 a.m. ET Thursday.

Eric Trump, the president’s son, took to social media to express his happiness that Trump Force One was the inaugural flight. He stated, “No one has done more for Florida and our country, and no one is more deserving of this great honor.” He went on to congratulate his father and mentioned his own involvement in making this happen.

However, the renaming didn’t sit well with everyone. Critics voiced their outrage online, with one declaring they would never set foot in the airport again. Another questioned the logic behind renaming public infrastructure after a living president, suggesting it might be a sign of Trump’s decline in health.

Others commented on what appeared to them as personality politics rather than true patriotism, citing the act as evidence of a cult-like following surrounding Trump. One person remarked, “I’ve lived in Florida all my life. Your dad didn’t do a damn thing for me,” highlighting how opinions vary widely among the public.

On the other hand, supporters of the president celebrated the change. Even the Trump Organization shared a video capturing the landing of Trump Force One at the renamed airport.
