Three North Carolina adults have been arrested and charged in connection with a fatal ATV accident involving two teenagers.
Rothman High School students Rain Jones and Jaden Reinald were killed in August 2024 while riding an ATV in Rothman, a town in southwestern North Carolina, near the South Carolina border.
They slammed into the tree on Old Wagon Road and were declared dead at the scene. According to WLOS.
North Carolina State Police previously said Jones and Reynald were attending the party on that night of the crash. The Transylvania Times reported.

Ashley Marie Darity, 35, faces two unwilling manslaughter charges in connection with the case. She was charged on February 10, according to court records.
North Carolina alcohol law enforcement recently arrested 33-year-old Patricia Whitehead and 47-year-old Brandon Rathbone in connection with the incident.

Whitehead faces two charges of helping minors buy alcohol, while Rathbone faces one count of the same claim, according to Transylvania County Court records. The document was dated in February 2023, but authorities told WLO that the charges were related to an ATV accident.

Records allege that Whitehead and Lasbone provided alcohol to boys under the age of 21 and hosted a house party for minors. The court also says Whitehead and Lasbone are holding a female boy while they are on the barrel stand.

According to WLOS, Darity was reportedly released on a $20,000 bond. Her lawyer has not commented on the case at this time.
