Netanyahu Discusses Attack on Iran
In a recent interview, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu acknowledged Israel’s strong actions against Iran, revealing that the Iranian regime sees former President Donald Trump as a significant threat to its nuclear ambitions and had plotted to assassinate him.
“They want him dead. He represents their primary opposition,” Netanyahu stated. “He didn’t take the diplomatic route that some may have tried, which would have essentially provided Iran with the means to develop nuclear weapons, along with a hefty financial backing.”
He went on to praise Trump for dismantling what he referred to as a flawed agreement and for authorizing the killing of Qasem Soleimani, emphasizing Trump’s firm stance against uranium enrichment. “To them, he’s their number one enemy,” Netanyahu remarked.
While discussing the threats facing Israel, Netanyahu shared that he has also become a target, especially after a missile was launched at his home. He described himself as a “junior partner” to Trump in confronting Iran’s nuclear capabilities.
Faced with what he characterized as an “immediate nuclear threat,” Netanyahu felt compelled to act decisively. “We were in a crisis situation, a dual existential threat,” he explained. “Iran was rapidly advancing its uranium enrichment towards a declared atomic bomb with the potential to destroy us. The second threat was their ambition to produce thousands of missiles annually. We had no choice but to intervene because Israel’s size makes it particularly vulnerable.”
Netanyahu also expressed that Israel’s actions would not only safeguard the nation but also serve to protect the broader world from potential Iranian aggression. Following Israel’s response, Iran retaliated with a large-scale missile attack on Israeli cities, though many of its missiles were reportedly intercepted.
He maintained that Israel’s proactive measures had, to some extent, curtailed Iran’s nuclear pursuits and reiterated that he believes discussions with a regime that fosters terrorism would yield no results.
Ready to take all necessary actions to neutralize the nuclear and ballistic missile threats from Iran, Netanyahu referred to the mission known as Operation Raisinglion as one of the largest military initiatives in history. He reached out to the Iranian populace, reminding them of the oppression they have faced under their regime for decades, which has long declared its intention to eliminate the Israeli state.
In addition, there will be a follow-up interview with Netanyahu airing this Sunday at 5 PM ET.
