Netanyahu Criticizes Anti-Israel Protesters for ‘Gays for Gaza’ Signs

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu criticised anti-Israel protesters holding signs reading “Gays in Gaza”, calling them absurd.

“Some of the protesters were holding signs saying ‘Gays in Gaza,'” Netanyahu said. Said “They’re like people holding up signs that say, ‘Chicken for KFC,'” he said while speaking to a joint session of the U.S. House of Representatives and Senate.

“The demonstrators are shouting ‘From the river to the sea,’ but many do not know which river or sea they are referring to,” Netanyahu said. Added“They fail not only geography but history too. They call Israel a colonial nation. Don’t they know that the Land of Israel is the place where Abraham, Isaac and Jacob prayed, where Isaiah and Jeremiah preached, and where David and Solomon reigned?”

in interview In a June interview with Punchbowl News, Netanyahu spoke about polls showing that 80 percent of Americans support Israel and 20 percent support Hamas, noting that the number of people who support Hamas is “still an incredible number.”

“Who are they supporting? Murderers, rapists of women, decapitators of babies, burners of innocent civilians, hostage takers, including Holocaust survivors,” Netanyahu told the outlet. “Well, maybe that’s not so surprising, because [20 percent]”More or less, it says that bin Laden was right and America was wrong. So clearly there is an issue that affects parts of American society and challenges America, not Israel.”

Netanyahu added:

People protesting with these killers… “There are gays in Gaza.” I’ve never heard such a ridiculous thing. If you’re gay in Gaza, you get shot in the back of the head. “There are women in Gaza.” Who are the women in Gaza? They’re chattel and all that ridiculous stuff.

Netanyahu’s remarks came as placards reading “Gays in Gaza” and “Queers in Palestine” were seen at anti-Israel protests since the Oct. 7, 2023, Hamas attack on Israel.

Homosexuality is illegal in the Hamas-ruled Gaza Strip, and Israel is currently the only country in the Middle East where people are not persecuted for being gay.
