Netanyahu Following Trump's Support: 'Together We Will Complete the Mission'

Netanyahu and Trump: A Strong Partnership Against Iran

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu expressed his commitment on Sunday to “complete the mission” against Iran, thanks to what he described as an “extraordinary endorsement” from President Donald Trump. Trump cautioned that a change in leadership in Israel could leave the U.S. facing Tehran alone.

Following Trump’s endorsement ahead of the elections set for October 27, Netanyahu took to X to express his gratitude. He highlighted their teamwork and the ongoing efforts to confront Iran.

“Thank you, President Trump, for the tremendous support and the joint work. Together we will complete the mission!” Netanyahu posted.

In a video directed at Trump, Netanyahu lauded the president as Israel’s best ally in the White House, praising his handling of Iran’s nuclear threats and their impact on the U.S.

“President Trump, my dear friend Donald, I’m so honored and humbled by your extraordinary endorsement,” he stated, noting that there has never been a better friend to Israel in the White House.

Netanyahu attributed significant responsibility to Trump for addressing what he labelled as a major threat—not just to Israel but to American security as well, warning that Iran’s leadership aspires to develop nuclear weapons that could be used against U.S. cities.

He commended Trump’s “conviction,” “clarity,” and “courage,” and told him, “You’re focused, laser-focused, on the task of removing this threat from this current generation of Americans, from all future generations.”

“Together we will never let Iran’s regime get nuclear weapons,” Netanyahu pledged in the video message, which Trump shared on Truth Social.

Trump’s endorsement largely revolved around the confrontation with Iran, which he accused of threatening both Israel and the U.S., while commending Netanyahu as an essential ally in that fight.

Referring to Netanyahu as a “Great Warrior Prime Minister,” Trump mentioned the regime’s persistent chants of “Death to Israel” and “Death to America,” emphasizing the seriousness of those threats.

According to Trump, the Iranian regime would likely have acted on its threats if not for U.S. and Israeli intervention, asserting that it has since suffered significant military and financial losses.

“Iran has been systematically destroyed, both Militarily and Financially, and unless they change their ways, rapidly, we will soon finish the job,” Trump cautioned.

He directly linked the ongoing struggle against Iran to Israel’s elections, arguing that choosing a leader other than Netanyahu would leave the U.S. to handle the situation alone.

“If Israel has the wrong Leader, which would be anyone other than Bibi, America will have to do this work ourselves, and I am not inclined to do so,” Trump noted.

The president admired Netanyahu’s resilience against intense opposition, including criticism from within Israel, observing that the prime minister has emerged stronger under pressure.

“Bibi Netanyahu has been Strong, Brave, and Brilliant in the face of tremendous opposition, including that coming from even Israel, itself,” he remarked.

Trump expressed that Netanyahu is exactly the type of partner the U.S. needs in Israel and concluded with his formal endorsement.

“Please let this Letter serve to represent my Complete and Total Endorsement of Bibi Netanyahu in his upcoming Race for Re-Election as Prime Minister of Israel,” Trump added. “BIBI NETANYAHU WILL NEVER LET YOU DOWN!”

In a later phone interview with Axios, Trump indicated he had always planned to endorse Netanyahu but intended to wait until closer to the election.

“I was always going to do that. I just didn’t want to do it too soon,” he said, highlighting the importance of a reliable leader for Israel.

Netanyahu, for his part, encouraged Israelis to take Trump’s endorsement seriously, pointing to their collaborative efforts against Iran and its affiliates as proof of their effective partnership.

“We decimated Iran, we decimated the Iranian axis, we pushed off the immediate threat of nuclear weapons on us,” he stated.

Stressing that Trump views their alliance as crucial for achieving their goals, Netanyahu urged voters to “listen to him, weigh his words, and vote for me.”

Earlier on Sunday, before Trump’s endorsement, Netanyahu informed Israeli security correspondents that his aims extended beyond merely weakening Iran’s military and nuclear capabilities to toppling the regime itself.

“Our plan is very comprehensive and very determined, to bring about the downfall of the regime,” he articulated. “That is my plan. That is the directive I have given all the security agencies, and that is what will happen.”

He cautioned that Iran would keep attempting to restore its nuclear program, weapon capabilities, and regional influence as long as the current leadership remains in power.

“Like cancer, this will not end as long as that regime remains in place,” he remarked.

In a Fox News interview, Netanyahu identified eliminating the Iranian threat as his top priority for a new term, followed by fostering the Abraham Accords established during Trump’s presidency.

“There are many more that are waiting in this precise moment, because they saw our strength, our power and fortitude. And they want to join us,” he noted regarding potential new partners in the normalization agreements.

Netanyahu concluded his video by commending Trump’s leadership and underlining the importance of their partnership for both nations.

“America has been fortunate. America’s allies have been fortunate. Israel has been fortunate. And the Jewish people have been fortunate to have a leader of such clarity, consistency, conviction, and courage as Donald J. Trump,” he said.
