Netanyahu says there were ‘failures’ by Israel on Oct. 7 in Dr. Phil interview

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said in an interview Thursday. Phil McGraw said there was a “failure” by his country on October 7, when Hamas attacked Israel.

Prime Minister Netanyahu: “Obviously there were some failures” Said. “First of all, the government. The first responsibility of the government is to protect the people. That is the ultimate enveloping responsibility. And the people were not protected. We have to admit that.”

Nearly 1,200 people were killed in the October 7 attack, and more than 34,000 Palestinians have been killed as a result of Israel’s current war in Gaza following the attack.

In his interview with McGraw, Netanyahu also said he needed a “thorough explanation” of what happened in Israel in October 2023.

“I think that once the war is over, there will need to be a thorough investigation into what exactly happened, how it happened, and who… who caused it,” the Israeli prime minister continued.

Prime Minister Netanyahu’s interview came a day after President Biden threatened to halt the delivery of bombs, artillery shells and other offensive weapons to Israel if the Israeli military launches an invasion of Rafah.

“Civilians are being killed in Gaza by bombs and other means aimed at populated areas,” Biden told CNN’s Erin Burnett on Wednesday.

“If they go into Rafah, they haven’t gone into Rafah yet, but even if they go into Rafah, they have historically used to deal with Rafah, to deal with cities. “I’ve made it clear that I will not supply the weapons that have been used. I will address that issue,” Biden added.
