New $1 Coin Featuring Trump in Consideration
The Treasury Department is mulling over the creation of a new $1 coin that would depict President Donald Trump. This idea is also linked to the upcoming 250th anniversary of the country, as shared by a spokesman with Politico on Friday.
The proposed design features Trump’s profile on one side and, on the other, an image of him in front of the American flag, with one fist raised alongside the phrase “Fight, Fight, Fight,” according to Politico.
A spokesperson for the Treasury commented, “Despite the forced closure of our government’s radical left, the facts are clear. Under the historical leadership of President Donald J. Trump, our country celebrates its 250th anniversary, and is stronger, more prosperous, and better entering than ever.”
Although the final design for the coin has not been confirmed, the spokesperson noted that this draft reflects the enduring spirit of the nation and democracy, even amidst significant challenges.
Brandon Beach, the treasurer overseeing the Mint, verified on social media that the images are genuine but are still early drafts. He mentioned that additional designs will be shared “once the US government’s occlusionist closure is over.”
Congress previously endorsed a redesign of circulating collectible coins in 2020. This bipartisan initiative permits the Treasury to issue a commemorative $1 coin in 2026, requiring collaboration with the Citizen Money Advisory Committee and the Art Committee on Design.
