Rev. Johnny Moore Discusses New Approach at Gaza Humanitarian Foundation
The Gaza Humanitarian Foundation has announced its new executive chairman, Rev. Johnny Moore, who believes the organization has demonstrated its effective approach.
In a recent interview, Moore shared insights about a new humanitarian strategy taking shape. He emphasized that under his leadership, the foundation has swiftly provided nearly 10 million meals within days, bypassing both Hamas and the conventional UN channels.
Moore explained, “What the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation has shown is that accepting some loss of aid to theft or diversion by Hamas was a false dichotomy from the beginning. It can be delivered without compromising integrity.”
Having been appointed recently, he noted that organizations backed by Trump aim to deliver support in Gaza free from Hamas’s interference. According to the foundation, Moore brings extensive experience in supporting humanitarian efforts.
Moore pointed out that the GHF’s US-led distribution site enables food to reach civilians directly, without the threat of being stolen or manipulated by militant groups. This model has drawn criticism from some established global aid organizations, which he claims could threaten their operational transparency.
He stated, “There’s a very effective global disinformation campaign,” adding that misinformation has often been echoed by media outlets that align with Hamas’s narratives.
Moore, who previously served on the International Religious Freedom Committee under Trump, has called for corrections from outlets like the BBC and Washington Post regarding inaccurate reports tied to security incidents involving aid convoys. He highlighted that Hamas recently attacked civilians who were attempting to access food supplies, yet mistakenly, international media has linked those incidents to both the Israeli Military and GHF.
“We are not a political organization. Our sole mission is to ensure food is available in Gaza,” he reiterated.
Moore mentioned that the Palestinians receiving assistance are, to some extent, both grateful and wary. He recalled an instance where a man repeatedly questioned whether the food was actually free.
“The world is raising a hue and cry about this situation, but the reality is that aid has been misappropriated and resold,” he remarked.
He expressed appreciation that local communities are benefiting from American support, challenging critics who assert that the foundation’s efforts are politically motivated or not aligned with Palestinian needs.
Moore addressed broader implications of media misinformation, tying it to a rise in global anti-Semitism, and urged journalists and officials to dismiss Hamas propaganda and acknowledge the real consequences of such misleading reports.
“This narrative is spreading rapidly around the world, along with a wave of anti-Semitism. It’s serious and alarming,” he warned.
Behind the scenes, he noted that support has emerged from both sides of the political aisle, with American citizens stepping in where international organizations have failed.
“I think it’s important for everyone to be honest with themselves. They can join us. We can work together towards success,” he expressed. “But for now, we are focused on our ongoing efforts.”
Currently, GHF operates four distribution sites across Gaza and plans to expand further, particularly in the severely impacted northern regions.
In just over a week, the foundation has delivered millions of meals, showcasing a scalable model that Moore believes will meet increasing demand.
“That’s our aim,” he stated. “Our plan is to broaden our reach and serve more locations throughout the strip to address needs.”
Moore urged detractors not to focus on criticisms, instead calling for a collective effort. “Anyone genuinely invested in this cause should be at the door of the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation.”
This comes amid backlash faced by CNN and BBC for their recurrent inaccuracies surrounding allegations of murders near GHF aid sites, claims that have been contested by Israeli officials, US diplomats, and verified geographical evidence.
