New Movie 'The American Miracle' Claims God Led the Founding of America

The Miracle of America Film

A new film suggests that the formation of America nearly 250 years ago was not just a coincidence; rather, it was guided by divine providence at every step. Titled The Miracle of America, the film will take audiences on a journey through the Revolutionary War and the early days of the country from June 9th to 11th.

This film draws inspiration from Michael Medved’s 2016 book of the same name, with Tim Mahony taking on the directorial role.

Medved stated that all the founding figures believed in God’s providence and felt they were part of a unique destiny that shaped America’s path. He emphasized the importance of recognizing this perspective, aiming to cultivate gratitude rather than guilt about the nation’s past.

Coincidentally, the film arrives about a year ahead of America’s 250th birthday. Medved references George Washington’s inaugural address in 1789, where Washington acknowledged “an invisible hand” guiding the nation’s founding. He argued that every action of the founders and citizens was marked by evident tokens of divine influence.

Medved recalls lessons from his father, who taught him that the blessings of America were intentional, not coincidental.

He believes that the nation carries a special responsibility—not privileges—but the responsibility to uphold human freedom and ideals of choice.

To illustrate God’s guiding hand, Medved shares two historical anecdotes. One occurred in August 1776, when a sudden, dense fog covered New York’s East River, allowing George Washington and his troops to escape British forces after losing the Battle of Long Island.

“Washington instructed his men to board small boats and navigate through the thick mist, escaping without casualties,” Medved recounted. “This enabled them to continue fighting in the war.”

The second narrative celebrates the 50th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence. There were skeptics back then who doubted the nation’s endurance over the years.

However, they celebrated the fact that the Declaration’s principal architects, John Adams and Thomas Jefferson, were still alive—Adams at 90 and Jefferson at 83, both exceeding the average life expectancy of their time.

It’s historically remarkable that two former presidents, once rivals, passed away on the same day, coinciding with the 50th anniversary, a rare occurrence with extremely low odds.

Both events will be depicted in The Miracle of America. Medved mentioned the film features perspectives from both sides of the political spectrum.

“I hope it fosters unity among Americans regardless of their political beliefs,” he concluded.
