The article was titled “A Female Obama? No, Kamala Harris is more than that.” New Republic Editor Michael Tomaski begins his piece by acknowledging the long-standing tension between “forward-thinking” people and those who are more cautious within the Democratic Party.

But they argue that divisions have been overcome thanks to Harris’ leadership, who delivered an “explosive speech” on Thursday night.

“In my adult life, there have been two Democratic parties,” the author writes. “Now there is one.”

“And Ms. Harris is, remarkably, unexpectedly, but powerfully, undeniably, the originator of that unity,” he added.

Calling the 2024 presidential hopeful a “historic figure,” the essay praised him for “rising to the occasion” with “poise, strength and sure-footedness.” [having] It was just breathtaking to see.”

She has also been described as “metaphorically saying to all Democrats, from the left to the center: ‘We have one future, and I am the person to lead us there.'”

The paper praised her for uniting the Democratic Party, described her rhetoric as “Kennedy-esque,” and argued that “we have never seen a black woman advance history in this way.”

WATCH — NBC’s Welker: Harris didn’t say much about how she differs from Biden:

“When we look back at history, we quickly see that it’s white men, other than Obama, who have driven history forward. We’ve never seen a black woman do it. She was Kennedy in 1960 and even more,” the progressive commentator wrote, highlighting Harris’ speech in which she called on Americans to unite for the future of the country to honour the legacy of democracy.

While the essay acknowledges that Harris was initially unimpressive to many, including the author, it argues that she is now “a very different person” from what was previously imagined.

Like many, I was not a fan of Harris in 2019-2020. I was not surprised that her candidacy failed. I thought she was the logical political choice for Joe Biden as VP, and then, like many, I thought she was politically awkward for a year or so as VP. I stopped paying attention. Most people did. But now it is clear that while we stopped paying attention, she was working, thinking, learning, getting better, and figuring out solutions. So this woman who suddenly appeared before us four weeks ago was a totally different person than most of us had in mind.

According to the article, Harris’ candidacy will transcend racial barriers and challenge former President Donald Trump.

“I don’t think anyone thinks black women can’t beat white men.” [Trump]”And that may be this candidate’s secret. Her true identity is obvious to those for whom it matters, but to those for whom it matters less, well, it doesn’t matter.”

“Think about how hard it is for a Black woman to run for president and do it all at the same time,” Tomaski added.

Given Obama’s respected position within the Democratic Party, the essay makes a startling comparison, highlighting that Harris is not only comparable to the first black president but potentially even more so: “Some would lightly say she is a female Obama.”

“But with no disparagement for Obama, Harris is so much more,” the post read. “That’s what a woman should be, and she is.”

The article concludes that Harris’s determination and success in uniting the party gives Trump every reason to be concerned.

“She undoubtedly benefits from a widely shared desire to unite and defeat a single evil, but it was never inevitable that she would be able to pull it off,” the authors write. “Well, she does, and if Trump isn’t afraid of this, he’s dumber than I thought.”

The issue comes amid constant attempts by left-leaning media to reshape Harris’ image, lavishing praise on her in an attempt to change public perception and move away from her previous unpopularity. This strategic shift is aimed at bolstering her image ahead of the 2024 presidential election, where she faces a major challenge.

Earlier this month, time The magazine featured Harris on its cover with the headline “Kamala Harris Is Back,” in what is seen as part of an effort to reshape her public image and give momentum to her campaign.

The cover is Ridiculed Republicans criticized this as an attempt by the media to salvage her image without addressing her unpopularity or policy positions.
