Former first lady Michelle Obama is the only Democrat who could beat former President Donald Trump in a hypothetical election, according to a new poll released Tuesday.

by Reuters/Ipsos The survey found that Michelle was the only Democrat who would have an advantage over Trump in a hypothetical election, with 50% of the vote to Trump’s 39%. Additionally, only 4% of respondents said they would not vote.
a The Rasmussen Report A poll released in February also showed Michelle Obama as the Democratic front-runner to succeed Biden in the 2024 presidential election, but the former first lady has repeatedly said she will not run for president, despite her widespread popularity among Democrats and independents.
The poll comes after Biden’s embarrassing debate performance last week, in which he appeared frozen, stuttered, sleepy and generally lacking enthusiasm, leading many Democrats to call for him to drop out of the race to allow a better candidate to take on Trump.
Polls showed Harris winning about 40% of the vote in a head-to-head matchup with Trump. In hypothetical matchups with Republican candidates, Democratic Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer trailed Trump by 5 percentage points and California Governor Gavin Newsom, a Democrat, trailed him by 3 percentage points.
The survey found that about a third of Democrats think Biden should immediately drop out of the race.
