On November 28, the Texas Department of Public Safety announced the graduation of the first batch of Border Patrol agents. Within a week, the team was already stopping migrants from fleeing into the U.S. interior without being apprehended at the border.
Texas DPS officials announced that Border Patrol agents were deployed for the first time on Dec. 5. The unit worked with a K-9 team on Dec. 3 to track down a group of Mexican immigrants. The team tracked the migrants for nearly 11 miles before apprehending them. Immigrants are trying to avoid fear. The trip took the troops through several ranches in Mabeik County near the Texas-Mexico border.
Two days later, DPS Border Patrol made a second immigrant arrest. The team tracked down and arrested “four illegal immigrants who attempted to evade detection by trespassing on a private ranch in Maverick County.”
DPS spokesman Lt. Chris Olivares posted more photos of migrants breaching the border wall and entering private property to avoid apprehension.
